What tips/advice would you give another photographer about shooting motion?

There are plenty of things I could say about shooting motion.  First, certain motions like the frozen action are really cool to use in sporting events when players are running/playing as fast as they can.  Action blur is good when you use it to capture how fast something is going.  It shows the speed of the object or person at hand.  And lastly, for light painting be as creative as you can because it looks really cool in the end.
